Match Report

No snow over the pass...
Sunny...
A nippy 30+ degrees...
Light winds...
Oh - and rugby going on...!

The dynamic OSU squad traveled up to the nether-regions to play the CWU snowmen... CWU had something to prove after last year - and they did it. Though the scoreline was close, the home-boys were held-up in goel on three separate occasions! They had the lion's share of possession and - if not for several handling errors - would have had far more chances at the goal line.

OSU was more oraganized in attack, quicker to the the breakdowns and bigger in the pack... They used this to their advantage when they could - but not enough.

With the score at 7-6 to CWU at the half, I had witnessed one of the worst outtings of CWU play I have seen..., so I expected a bit of an adjustment in the second period. OSU on the other hand was all over the pitch - but had a severe lack of possession at the breakdowns - as the CWU squad where more urgent in securing downed ball.

That being said, OSU took the lead with just less than 20-minutes to go in the match..., their lone try came off of phases of perfect support in transition.

CWU had some hiccups down the strech - but brought it together for a solid last 15-minutes - during which time their #10 kept the attack focused and practical. This led to the third try of the day for the Homies. After being held-up in goal..., a scrum transformed into a maul which they drove over the line and dotted-down..., like they had been waiting to do so all match...

The match over - we had a 60-minute 2nd-side event that proved OSU's depth - as they towered over the CWU group 34 - 5.

Great matches all around with focused play and positive attitudes for the most Part!
